George and Erica are high school sweethearts who have been married since 2010. They grew up in Calera and started attending Jouney as youths. They have three children: Noelle, Jaxon, and Gianna. George and Erica assist the other youth leaders of JOYO by filling various roles. Their prayer is that Journey will be a vessel for young people to come to know, follow, and grow in Christ!

"Littles" Youth Ministry

Emily Armstrong has lived in the area for seventeen years. She graduated from the University of Montevallo in 2022 with a degree in Elementary Education. Emily works with the younger youth at Journey. She actively enjoys practicing songs and puppet shows with the youth and making her lessons from the Bible come to life. She believes that no one is too young to start learning from God's Word. Her prayer is that the youth at Journey will receive salvation at an early age, so they may glorify God with the rest of their lives.

Pre-teen/Teen Youth Ministry

Curtis and Rachel have been married since 2015. They moved to the area upon marrying and joined Journey shortly after. They have two sons, Colton and Caleb. Curtis and Rachel both serve in various roles at Journey but particularly enjoy their time with JOYO. Curtis and Rachel try and focus their efforts on the pre-teen/teen side of JOYO but help anywhere that is needed. Their prayer for JOYO is that Journey Baptist Church is able to instill a love for learning God's word, serving God, and loving others.
